Unfortunately, I sometimes forget to make note of where I happened to find the painting, what it is called, and the artist who created it, as with the painting below. For the life of me, I cannot figure out who painted it. (There's some info in the bottom-left corner of the photo, but I cannot make out what is written there.)

Although I am the furthest thing from an art expert, regular readers know I enjoy studying paintings and commenting on them in what I would describe as a slapdash manner. I tend to peruse and examine art online a few times a week, and I often download images I hope to post and comment on at a later time.

Cranach came to my mind when I saw the picture and one of the words in the corner might be Cranach. Just a guess, I don’t think I have seen the painting.

It looks like the small upper part of the Decemviri Altarpiece by Pietro Perugino. This page seems to refer to an exhibition of the painting in its original location:
